Beauty Poll: Do You Tightline Your Eyes?

Diehard eyeliner fanatics may be familiar with the tightlining technique, but if you aren't, it's time for beauty school! Class is in session—learn all about it after the jump.

"Tightlining is basically when you apply eyeliner in between your eyelashes and underneath the lash line instead of on top," explains editorial makeup artist Alana Wright. "It gives the appearance of a fuller lash line—the eye appears more alert and striking in an understated way."

Duly noted! Wright also recommends trying the tightlining technique with cake eyeliner and a straight edged liner brush. And if you're concerned about how sanitary it is to apply eyeliner that close to your actual eye, scoop the product out of the container with a clean brush and dab a bit onto the back of your hand. That way you avoid double-dipping directly into the container, eliminating the spread of germs and minimizing your chances of catching an icky infection.

And there you have it! How familiar are you with tightlining? If it's new to you, think you'll try it?
